flat folds

"flat folds" are objects shaped by felted human hair. The mix of hair and porcelain is extended by serial work, where many objects form one. The seriality shows what can be planned and where the material instead becomes self-perpetuating and takes on a life of its own.

The shapes are created by laying the felted hair over a flat surface and compressing it. There the textile like properties are displayed by the pleats and folds of the felt, where thin areas create deformations and transparencies.
