about

Céline Arnould lives and works in Zurich. She uses human hair as a medium for her ceramic work.

She combines these materials in ever new series of experiments, in which every idea is implemented and new directions develop playfully. These series are created by working with her hands, by working out the technique and by knowing the connotations of the material. In this way, her objects are often more of a medium to display the technique, the combination of materials and the craftsmanship.

During her training as a hairdresser and her studies in design at ZHdK, hair and its possibilities for design and its role in creating identity were central to her work.
