felted folds circle

“felted folds circle” is a series of objects that, hung on the wall, can be seen as individual works or as a whole.

Felted human hair is cut in same sized circles and, combined with porcelain, hung upside down over a disk to dry. This technique creates a broad spectrum of movement in the folds and each individual piece showcases this differently. In seriality the mixture of chance and control this technique entails becomes visible. Hung, these fragile objects give the impression of growing out of the wall and depending on one's perspective new transparencies and subtleties can be discovered.
