dynamic folds

“dynamic folds” form a series of objects that, once mounted on the wall, act as one large object, seemingly growing out of the wall. The technique of combining human hair and porcelain works together with gravity. The felted pieces are hung by string. This process creates folds and pleats that are accentuated by the downward pull and later movement in the object.

Where the felt is stretched and thin, deformations and transparencies appear.

Repeating this process again and again shows to what extent an object can be planned and where the material determines the form and shape of it.
